Beautiful keepsake puzzle of the Porthole Portrait of GW by Rembrandt Peale, circa 1823. This is one of 79 portraits that Peale painted throughout his life, some depicting Washington in military uniform as shown, others in civilian dress. The portrait is based on Peale's study of Washington done from life in 1795, when the artist was 17 and the retired General and President was 63 years old.
